The gift they never thought they would receive.
Dear,
In many countries, not only are Christians persecuted for their faith, but many are restricted from the written Word of God because they cannot read.
Countries like Somalia (with a literacy rate of 37.8%) and Afghanistan (with a literacy rate of 28.1%) are among the areas where many lower class Christians are restricted from learning about God because they haven't learned to read.
So, how can you provide God's Word to a Christian who can't read?
An 86-year-old persecuted Christian has found it difficult to read a printed Bible. An Open Doors co-worker recently gave her an MP3 Bible. The elderly sister joyfully said,
"This is such a precious thing to me—from now on, I can hear the Word of God for myself without having to wait for other people to read it to me."
Another blind believer who also received an MP3 Bible said,
"Thank you so much for your love—even though we are blind, we can now listen to the Word of God while we are working. The Braille Bible is a rare find and even if we have it, we have to read it slowly because we need to feel the pages with our fingers. But with this MP3 Bible, we can listen to the Word of God clearly—everywhere and at any time."
God is using technology to reach people with His Word. You can help us provide persecuted Christians with their own Bible—a gift many never thought they would receive.
Whether it is an electronic version or the traditional written Word, we want to deliver the Bible to 20,000 people.
A trusted partner of Open Doors has already provided an amazing $50,000 challenge grant hoping that you meet their challenge gift to provide Bibles and biblical materials to persecuted believers around the globe.
Your gift will help unleash the power of God's Word in places where faith costs the most!
God bless you for being that sister or brother who provides a Christian with the blessing of receiving the Bible.
One in Christ,
